Bhagawatham is the vangmaya swaroopa of the lord Krishna Himself,and it is delivered to Shri Shukadeva by his father Vyasa Bhagawan,who in turn narrates it to Maharaja Parikshit.In a nutshell, it contains the answers for the six questions Saunakadi Rishis asked Shri Suda, such as what's the absolute and ultimate good for the people in general,why Lord Krishna took birth to Devaki,what're the incarnations,different avataras of the the lord and after Sri Krishna's Vaikuntaarohan whose custody Dharma sought etc...There's narration of the 24 avataras of the God and in the begining of the Creation, God took the form of Maha Purusa and manifested Himself into the different materials of creation .

At the end of the Mahabharatha yudha Krishna saves the life of Parikshit at the womb of his mother and Kunti makes the famous sthuthi of Bhagawan. Yudhishtira finds that Bhagawan always remembers his bhakthas like Bhishmadeva ,who makes a woderful sthuthi of Him in 11 stanzas.Then comes the birth of Parikshit and he being crowned the king by the Pandavas and the famous Curse incurred upon Parikshit Maharaja.It's when the Maharaja searches for the ways to spend the last seven days of his life,Bhagawan ,vyasaputra, Shukdeva muni arrives............and the Bhagaatham flows from his mouth as the juice of WORDS of Amrita ..........Let's drink that juice..."Pibhatha bhagawatam rasamalayam......"
