Vamana Bhagawan at the temple at Tirukoiloor,Tamil Nadu is said to be the tallest Murthy of Vishnu Bhagawan, 15 feet ..Ulagam azhandaan....................

It's the "HANTHA BHAGYAM JANANAM" that Mankind has a number of Archa Vigrahas of Gods whom we can worship as and when we can,but whether all of us are visiting those Holy places, is a matter of self conviction. Vaman Bhagawan has one temple at the holy town of Tirukoiloor,in Tamil Nadu,India. Vamana Bhagawan is perhaps,the greatest admirer of the human value,which is clear from his accepting the head of King Mahabali for the third Padam,when He measured the whole earth and the skies by his two padams. Perhaps He thought that His bhaktha's head is more valuable than these,earth,sky and whole of Universe!!!!!
Mahabali,the demon,escaped the total destruction of the Asuras by Devas after the Palazhimadanam,because of the Mrithasanjivani of Guru Sukracharya and further increased his strength by the Viswajit Yagna. He terrorized the Devas and ruled the three worlds. The Devamata Adithidevi performed the PAYAVRUTHAM and as a boon Hari agreed to take the avataram as her son and save the Devas from Mahabali. And on the Sravana Dwadasi day at the Abijit Muhurtham, Bhagwan Vamana Deva appeared as the Son of Adithi and Kasyapa. Then Vamanadeva after the Upanayanam ceremony, in which Aaditya gave Gayatri, Brihaspathi gave Yagnopaveetham, Kasyapa gave Megalam, Bhoomadevi gave Krishnajinam, Chandran gave Palasa dandam, Adithidevi gave Kaupeenam, Akasam gave Umbrella Brahmadeva gave Kamandalu, Saptharishis gave Darbas, and Saraswathidevi gave Rudrakshamala, went to the Yagnasala of Mahabali where he was performing the Aswamedhayagna. Vaman asked for three feet of Land from the demon . MAHABALI knew that it was Bhagawan Vishnu at his door, and agaist the wishes of Guru Sukracharya, agreed to give away the Danam . And when the first two Padams covered the earth and the skies, he showed his head as the place for the third,because he knew that he had the Ahamkara which was the cause of his down fall and he wanted to give it to the God . Hari was pleased by Bali and gave the boon to him that he will be there as the watch man at his palace doors and Bali can get his Darshan at any time he wanted . Who else can get such a wondertful boon ....?
