In the tranquil atmosphere of the mount of Durga,at Kalyan near Mumbai is the divine abode of the Durga Mataji, who is the SHIPRA PRASADINI for millions of Her Bhakthas who visit Her on a regular basis. Only a 5 minutes drive from the Kalyan Railway station,once you reach there, it is an entirely different Divine World. At the base , you take coconut,garlands and flowers for Durga Mataji from the handful of florists and pass through the beautiful Arch and climb up a few steps and take permission from the Ganapathi Pappa and a few more climbs ,you will be at the Sree Koil of Durgaji. The serene surroundings welcome you with pleasant breeze and with the sounding of the temple bells,you enter the Sanctum Sanctorum of Sree Mataji.Then you are face to face with the beautiful statue of the Goddess Durga and if you have done nothing wrong in this world,you need not be afraid of the wide open eyes of the Mataji. These eyes will only shower Her Karuna to the real Bhakthas. Keep watching Her eyes for some time and they will start talking to you. Other Devatas may take time to give their Prasadams to the bhakthas, but here Mataji will bless Her children instantly,hence She is the Shipra Prasadini.This Mataji was worshipped by Chatrapathi Sivaji Maharaj and Mataji had blessed the King with a golden Sword. You do the poojas, offer your prayers,do the Sashtanga Namaskar to the Goddess and do seven parikramas of Her temple and Mataji would have already blessed you with all that is prayed for. For many decades now, one ardent devotee of Her performs Laksharchana on all the Tuesdays and on the Pournami day of the month of Kumbham (Masi Masam - Mid February to mid march) and on these days Durga Mataji will have- "Koti Surya Sama Prabha"-the brightness of a ten million rising Suns !! And on these days after the Maha Arathi,she distributes the Maha Prasadams to all the devotees and eyes full of the Divya Mangala Darshan of Durga Mataji and this ardent devotee's blessings,all the bhaktha's wishes get fulfilled. Some bhakthas continue their Rahu Kala songs at the temple on Tuesdays. And let the Navaratri come, it's a special fesstival season for Durgaji. The whole premises will adorn a festive look with eye catching lightings and decorations. And Mataji will have Nava Vidha Bhavam on all the nine days of Navaratri and there will be thousands of bhakthas in serpentine lines for the Darshan often taking hours of standing in the queue.Durga Mataji is so charming that a devotee visiting Her for the first time will come back to Her again and again and will become Her regular and ardent Devotee for the rest his/her life.
