Bhagawatham-10.12-Santhanagopalam

Krishna Taking Arjuna to the Vaikuntam

To fulfill the wishes of Mother Devaki, Krishna went to the Pathala lokam to get the children killed by Kamsa back from there. King Mahabali did the puja of Krishna. In the first birth the children of Marichi Maharshi, with the Curse of Brahma next birth they were the children of Hiranyakasipu and then in their third birth they were the children of Vasudeva and Devaki and were killed by Kamsa on the first day of birth. Mahabali happily returned the children to Krishna. Devakidevi enjoyed the sight of her children and subsequently Krishna blessed them and gave Moksham and sent to Vaikuntam.Krishna wanted to bless the king of Mithila, Bahulashwan and His brahmin bhaktha Shruthadeva at the same time and took the same swaroopa twice and went to their houses at the same time and blessed them both and gave Mokshams also.

In Dwaraka there lived a brahmin whose children were dying at the time of their births and Krishna dismissed his pleas as " nobody can change the Karma Phalams of ones own Karmas during the Janmantharas". This must have been done purposely by Krishna - perhaps to remove the ego of Arjuna on a later date. Brahmin was unhappy with Krishna as eight of his children died on birth. When Arjuna was visiting Dwaraka, he found that brahmin crying on the death of his ninth child and Arjuna felt pity for him and assured him that he will safeguard the birth of his next child. Then, when the brahmin's wife was pregnant for the tenth time, Arjuna made a safe cordon with his Astras and thought no body can come near the lady. But alas, this time also the child died and not even the body of the child was available-Arjuna had promised the brahmin that if he could not save the child he will commit suicide . Arjuna went to Yamalokam and the Devalokam but could not find the dead child. So he prepared his own pyre to end his life. Krishna was a silent spectator so far, on seeing the smoke of the pyre,He appeared on the scene and assured Arjuna that he can find all the Brahmin's children. And then Krishna took Arjuna in His chariot and left towards the western side. When the Ranges of "Lokalokam" were crossed there was total darkness all aroound and Arjuna was afraid of it. Krishna's sudarshan chakra then gave light and illuminated the path. Then Arjuna could not open his eyes due to the Shine of the Vaikunta lokam and Krishna asked Arjuna to look at the Sight of Vaikuntam. There Arjuna could see the Sreeman Narayana on His, Adishesha Vahanam with all the Tejas and Glories. He also saw the three Murthies of Brahma,Vishnu and Siva there. Both Krishna and Arjuna made Sashtanga Namaskarams to the Gods and got their blessings. Sreeman Narayana said He wanted to see both Arjuna and Krishna together and hence took away the brahmin's children and they are here for them to take back now. Krishna returned the children to the brahmin and got the name of "Santhanagopalan". Anyone reading this story is sure to get the benefit of Santhanams with the blessings of Sree Krishna.
