The Paisacha Bhashyam !!

We have maintained that Sreemad Bhagavat Geetha is the most written about and most commented upon book in this world. There are plenty of translations in most of the world languages of the world. These commentaries (Bhashyams) are widely read and variedly understood by the human beings. Yet we can not say that we have the complete knowledge of Bhagavat Geetha, because it's like an ocean , it's difficult to fathom it fully. We have Sadgurus and Mahatmas like Adishankaracharya, Jnaneshwarji, and many others commenting on Geetha, but we now hear that Lord Hanumanji also has written Bhashyams on Bhagavat Geetha.

There are many rules on how Bhagavat Geetha can be heard from a Pravaktha. One should become eligible to listen to Geetha and the Shrotha should be at a lower elevation from the Vaktha, or the Vaktha should be on the Vyasa Peedam on a higher elevation.

Once Lord Shiva was giving Bhagavatham discourses to Mata Sati and Satidevi fell asleep when 9th Skandam was over. And Shuka in the form of a young new-born bird was listening the Bhagavatham and to keep the Harikatha going Shuka made the Hoomkara and Lord Shiva completed the Bhagavatham. And at the end Shiva came to know what happened and He wanted to punish Shukadeva for the two mistakes. Listening to the Pravachanam without the knowledge of the Pravaktha and to listen to the Katha from a higher elevation. He wanted to give death penalty for these two crimes !! And even though He's after Shuka, He understood from Vyasa Maharshi that Shukadeva could not be given the death sentence because he has become Amar by drinking the Bhagavatha Amritam. Death can not touch those who listen to the Hari Katha,it's like the Amritam.

Lord Krishna as Parthasarathy, was explaining the Geetha in details to Arjuna who was in lot of doubts. Krishna described the Karma Yoga, Gnana Yoga and the Bhakthi Yoga to him and finally asked him to surrender unto Him leaving all the Dharmas. Krishna even gave Arjuna the Divya Chakshus (Divine Eyes) with which he saw the Virat Swaroopa of Lord Krishna and at the end Arjuna said his illusions are gone now...
"Nashto Moha: smruthirlabdhwa twat Prasadan Maya Achyutha........"

and that he is able to see the realities. Arjuna fell on Krishna's Lotus Feet in total surrender to Him. Suddenly there appeared Hanumanji with folded hands and said that his illusions are also gone. Lord Krishna enquired what he did for that. Hanumanji said that he heard the whole Geetha from the Lord while He narrated it to Arjuna. Krishna asked where he was sitting and Hanumanji said that he was on the Flag of the Chariot. Lord Krishna said .."Hanumanji, you have committed two crimes. One, without my knowledge you heard Geetha and secondly, you were sitting at a higher elevation than Me which is not acceptable by Shastras. Hence I curse you that you get Paisacha (Ghost) Status." Hanumanji was on tears and he fell on Krishna's feet and said " Pardon me my Lord. Show mercy on me and tell me how to get out of this Paisacha Body. My Lord, I was a loyal Bhaktha of Lord Sree Ram in the previous Yuga and hence please show mercy on me. Where ever Hari Katha is conducted, I reach there without fail and chant Hari Sankeerthanams myself all the times,hence my Lord please show mercy on me. I know I have committed crimes and deserve to be punished but my Lord please show me how to get out of this Paisacha body." Lord Krishna was very happy to listen to Hanumanji and He said " Hanumanji, I know you are a loyal Vishnu Bhaktha and does not deserve any punishment. But a curse can not be revoked even by Me and so the curse shall stay. But I advise you to go to Kashi and write Bhashyams (Commentaries) on the Bhagavat Geetha you listened from Me and you will get rid of his Paisacha Body when you cmplete that Bhashyam." HANUMANJI happily went to Kashi and wrote the Bhashyams for Geetha which is known as the "Hanumat-krit Paisacha Bhashyam" and obtained back his divine body. We do not know whether anybody could put his hands on Hanumanji's Geetha Bhashyams, but one thing is sure that Hanumanji got relief from his Paisacha thoughts and deeds by chanting the Hari Gathas. We are also affected by such thoughts and deeds in our worldly life and hence the only way open to us, is to chant the Hari Namams all the times so that these demonic activities dont come near to us.

Guru is as essential in our life as we need the Oxygen, prana vayu. As we have discussed in our earlier posting, "Dasa Dasoham", Sadguru is the only Margadarshi for us , he shows the way for us. And if that Sadguru becomes Lord Guruvayurappa Himself !! Oh God. Because He's the Jagat Guru, He is the Guru of all Gurus. Krishnaa...Guruvayurappa..... He is the Prana Vayu for us, without Him our life is like a Jada. He is the one helping all of us with the Prana all the times. A momentary break in this Vayu, will mean the end of life for anyone. And Guruvayurappa.... you are the controller of both the Guru and the Vayu and to give your Bhakthas these two essentials of life, you have come dowm from the Vaikunta to this Bhooloka Vaikuntam called Guruvayur !!

Krishnaa...Guruvayurappa.... Kindly bless us to have these names always in our minds and let them come down to our tongues as and when we require them. These are our Mantras for the life. Because your Leelas are Limitless....Hari Anand,Hari Katha Ananda and we are not sure any Kathakar is able to write all your Limitless Kathas. Raja Parikshit had the time limit of seven days and Sukdeva Bhagawan could not have told all your stories to him. Your Bhaktha Soordas was interested only in your Bala Leelas, he might have thought to finish the Balaleelas to go further, but your Balaleelas are endless. Meeradevi had the Premika (Nayika) Bhavam with you and so she was not interested in Your other Leelas. And then, how can we understand Your Leelas, they are so varied and sometimes contradictory. Krishna ....Guruvayurappa.....

You take birth as Devaki's son and grow up as Yashoda's son !!! You could have taken birth as Yashoda's son directly. Why You did not do so ? Krishna......Guruvayurappa...In the Geethopadesam to Arjuna you say one should not tell lies....and when Yashoda asked you whether you have eaten mud, You said...."Naaham Bhakshitavan Amba", a pure lie. We can even today, see the mud in your mouth !!! May be You wanted to show that you are the devourer of all !!! Krishna....Guruvayurappa.......You steal the butter from the houses of Gopies and then distribute it to all your friends. Krishna..... Guruvayurappa...One day You take away the dresses of the Gopies and yet another day you provide endless dress to Droupati !! Krishna....Guruvayurappa....You advise Arjuna to not to run away from the battle field, stand up and fight and You Yourself run away from the field, earning the name of Ranchoran !!!! Krishna....Guruvayurappa..... At the age of seven you hold the Govardhan on your finger, then you enact the Rasa Creeda with the Gopies and at ten, you kill the Demon Kamsa....Krishna...Guruvayurappa....You make the complete creation with just a Samkalpa from the Vaikunta and to kill Kamsa you have to take the Avataram on earth !!!! You could have done with a mere Sankalpa from your Anantha Sayanam !!! It must be that You wanted to show You are the "Saguna Brahmam" to we Bhakthas who can visualise You in the many forms you take Avatarams !!! Krishna Guruvayurappa...kindly narrate to us the Tatwams behind Your many Leelas as we want to write about your all Leelas in details. Till You do so, we have to say ..."Krishnat Param Kimapi Tatwam, Vayam Na Jane.." Krishna....Guruvayurappa....

Krishna Guruvayurappa....You are the Poorna Avataram, we know. You are the Param Brahmam, that could not be described by the Vedas and Upanishads,we know. You are at Your Empirical best at Dwaraka as the Dwarakadeesh. You show Your Govardhana Leela at Nathdwara as Sreenathji. You are at Your most beautiful form at Melkote. You show your magnifying charm at Udupi. You shine as the Bange Bihari at Vrindavan. And Your beauty of birth is seen at Madhura. But Your Sampoorna Swaroopam is seen only in Guruvayur. Krishna...Guruvayurappa.... With the Shangu, Chakram, Gadha and Padmam in Your Hands and with Your enchanting Face...Krishna Guruvayurappa....are You not with the Poorna Swaroopam at our Guruvayur.? Krishna ... Guruvayurappa....

Krishna Guruvayurappa, we want to tell your complete stories to everyone, but how can we do it with our stinking mouths and smelling tongues? With our Kama, Krodha, Mada, Matsarya and Ahamkaradi bad habits, how can we tell your stories which are very pure and aromatic. How can we tell Your Divine Leelas with Kuroor Amma,Poonthanam Thirumeni, Melpathur Bhattathiripad, Manjula Devi and Vilwamangalam Swamiyar ? How can we tell the stories of Your Matsya, Koorma, Varahadi Avatarams ? How can we tell that although these are mean creatures, You keep them at Your Heart, that is why You took avatarams in their forms. How can we tell that You took the Avataram of Narasimham, not just to kill Hiranyakashipu, but to prove the world that Your Bhaktha Prahlada's words, that You are present every where, true. And how can we tell, You took the Avataram of Parasu Rama to create the Kochu Keralam of ours, as Your own country. And when Keralam was ruled well by Bali Chakravarthy, You took the Avataram of Vamana Deva to prove the world that Your Bhaktha Bali Chakravarthy's head was equal to all the other worlds put together, Krishna.... Guruvayurappa.... How can we tell the story of the Maryada Purushottam Sree Rama and Your many Leelas in the Avatarams of Balarama and Sree Krishna. The never ending Divine Leelas of Your Krishna Avataram, how can we tell with our stinking mouths ? Krishna Guruvayurappa, kindly show us the way to tell all these, told and untold stories about You.

Krishna Guruvayurappa, we are not praying for Moksham. We can not see our beloved Guruvayurappan in Vaikuntam. We are praying for rebirth as Human being so that we can come to Your Abode in Guruvayur as and when we wish. It's the Booloka Vaikuntam for us. We want to see your Vaka Charthu, Abhishekam, Alankaram and Trikala Pooja and Your smiling face with Hari Chandanam all the times. You may say that rebirth as Human Being is difficult, "Suranamapi durlabham". If that is so, give us rebirth as Tulasi, or any other plants, or as stones, or as anyother creatures. But that tulasi should come as part of your Vanamala, that stone should come as the walking stone for Your Bhakthas coning to Guruvayur, or those plants and creatures should be in Your temple premises so that we can see You all the times even in those births. Krishna....Guruvayurappa.... You are everything for us, rebirth or not, we want to be in Your premises all the times. We are not sure we can tell or write all Your Leelas, but Krishna Guruvayurappa, Your these two names contain all Your stories. Hence bless us to have the minds to call Your names "KRISHNA GURUVAYURAPPA" every moments of our lives.
