Deepam

Lead kindly Light

Our prayer is always "Thamaso ma jyothir gamaya...". We are in total darkness of kama, krodha madha, matsarya and only the God can save us from these weeds. Just as a ray of light completely removes the darkness, however total it is, and brings in brightness a partial bliss ...a kadaksham... from the God can do wonders in our lives.Only thing we have to do is to light a lamp for the Almighty and chant his glories all the time.

Archana

Pushpanjali

Flowers are there in this world, only to offer them to the Gods. You can see ladies in India wearing them on their heads. In Tirumala this is not allowed, as they too think that all the flowers are for the Loard only.I wonder, if only I can grow a flower garden in my backyards and pluck the flowers everyday and do a Sahasranama archana to Lord Srikrishna. Or if I can do an Ashtothara shatham everyday to Lord Guruvayurappa. Or at least pluck one rose everyday and offer it to His lotus feet everyday. Can I do it.....?

Naivedyam

As "Naivedyam" to God,what offering I should make, when I know that He is the creator of all the materials available in this world?Any worldly thing I offer,He has it in Him already, as He has the whole Universe in His stomach--Ulagam unda peru vayan--.Yet I offer Him, in my
everyday pooja, a raisin or two and say " Maha naivedyam nivedayami". Is it apt ?

It's not the material, the Bhava and Bhakthi which He expects from us. Even if I give a big feast without any bhava, God may not accept it. He has said it in Bhagawatham " Patram Pushpam Phalam Thoyam Yo me bhakthya Prayachathi......." (10/81/4). I can give a Tulasi patram,or a flower, or a banana or if nothing is there a glass of water as naivedyam to Him and if I give it with Bhakthi He will be happily taking it.

So where is the question of material in naivedyam ? It is only our bhavam which can be offered to God as Naivedyam. I may add, what ever we make as food for our own consumption ,can be offered to Him first as our naivedaym and taken back as His Prasadam and that food is going to taste better with His blessings in it.

Prasadam

Why is that I am not getting what I want, even though I am working very hard towards my desired goal? All my efforts are in vain, even my poojas and prayers to the God are not getting me the answer.

We have noticed ,in Indian temples and other worship places, they do elaborate poojas for very long time and only at the end of it, the Prasadams are distributed. This shoud mean that only when the effort is totally complete, you get the result.

So if we can assume that everything in this world is a gift of the God,including ones own life, and what ever we are striving to attain is the prasadam of the God. And here in lies the answer for my question. That my attempt is not complete to get the desired result. That I have to keep striving until I get the Prasadam
