WELCOME-2008..Here's a Red-Carpet for you

A Very Happy New Year....2008

Wishing you all a very Happy and healthy new year. During this whole year, let only good things happen, let only good sounds heard, let all the visions be clear, let there be only love around us, Or let us say only..."I LOVE YOU"

When new year day starts, at the new sun rise time-most of us normally are in deep slumber with the previous nights hangover and rise up from the beds at the noon time with a hope of good things to happen in the new year!!!For a change from this year onwards, let us get up on the new year day at the sun rise time and with the music of Nadaswarams and sounds of Suprabhathams, straight away see the statue or photo of Sree Guruvayurappa as the first sight of the year and then wish our friends and relatives "Happy New Year" at the start of active New Year . We can hope for a really good year ahead. Normally we see the 'Sun Rise' only on a vacation at a hill station, instead let us see it on the New Year Day break, this year.
Once again..."Happy New Year"

Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam

Guruvayurappa Tawa Saranam

Can you imagine some three situations which could prove how gifted are the Human Beings in comparison to others, including the Devatas. In the Vaikuntam, there is a long line of 330 million, standing in one line to meet The Mahavishnu Bhagawan, this line includes all the Demi- gods and other Devatas!!! There is not evn a second line for the seniors or for the more fortunates. All of them are carrying some unique and beautiful gifts for the Lord. Some are reaching upto the Main Gopuram and are returning for they are not given permission to meet the God. Even if one is given 5 minutes to talk to the Bhagawan, imagine the fate of the last one in the line and how many Janmas he has to wait to see the God.

Now come to the Himalayas, where from Haridwar to the Rishikesh and above there are plenty of Ashramas of Yogies,Munis and Maharishis, in thousands of numbers. Each one of them doing rigorous penance ,some standing on one foot for years, some others hanging from the tallest branch of the nearest banyan trees , and others threatening to cut off their heads to get the Darshan of the Gods and Devatas of their liking. And imagine these Mahatmas are doing these things for the many Janmas and are yet to get the nod of the Gods.

Now, follow a guy who catches a train from the Lokamanya Tilak Terminus of Kurla in Mumbai and alights at a station called Thrissur in the state of Kerala in just 24 hours and from there he boards a bus and reaches the Booloka Vaikuntam of the Earth, named Guruvayur in half hour's time and then after standing in line for about one or one and a half hour he is able to see the God of all Gods, THE GURUVAYURAPPAN, for whoose Darshan the Devatas in Vaikuntam and the Munis in the Himalayas are waiting for ages!!!What do you conclude.............
Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam

Nigama Shata Sahasrena Nirbhashyamanam............the hundreds of thousands of Shastras, Vedas and Upanishads could not describe the Brahmam (The God)......They only said that this is not the Brahmam and this is not it---by the theory of elimination ---such Brahmam that the eyes can not see which is enabling the eyes to see, such Brahmam the ears can not hear that which enables them to hear and that Brahmam the hands can not touch that which gives them the sense of touch......that Brahmam is in front of your eyes in Guruvayur.Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam

The strory of Bhagawan and His Leelas are called the Bhagawatham which Valmiki describes in 24000 verses in his Ramayanam, which Vedavyasa Bhagawan describes in 18000 verses in his Bhagawatha Puranam and which Melphathur Narayanan Bhattathiripad described in 1008 verses in his Narayaneeyam or which can be represented in just one name of Rama or Krishna....Sahasra Naama Thathulyam Rama Naama Varanane...Such Namasankeerthanam should be made non stop till one gets the Sakshatkaram which is a one-in-a-million probability, but if you just visit Guruvayur, the Same Para Brahma Tatwam is in front of you...Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam.

Lord Rama Himself heard the Ramayana recital from Lava and Kusha and got the benefit of that Epic Sravanam and Narada Maharshi is believed to have recited the complete Bhagawatham to Lord Sree Krishna during the Rajasuya Yagna of Dharmaputra. And each and every Dasakam of Narayaneeyam is told to Lord Guruvayurappa by Bhattathiripad and the God is believed to have nodded "Yes" to every one of his inquiries. And this happened in the holy Mandapam of Sree Guruvayurappa and one can even touch such a place by ones own hands.Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam.

The Bhagawan who is the cause of Shrushti, Sthithi and Layam of all the Universe and beyond, one who creates the elements and the compounds of them and provides for their survival by giving them the food and essentials and at the Pralaya time safe guards them in His own stomach until the next cycle of production and Who describes the whole of Bhagawatham in just four slokas --Chatur sloki bhagawatham, to Brahmaji and the Lord Who kills the Hriranyaksha, the demon and saves the Earth from his clutches, taking the Varaha Avataram, and the Lord Who takes the Kapiladeva Avataram to recite the "Kapila Geetha" to His mother, Devahoothi, is in front of your eyes in Guruvayur....Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam.

Once Dakshaprajapathi conducted a Brihaspathisavanam Yaganam just to insult Siva by not inviting Him for the Yagna though He's his son-in-law,and in the end, Sati, his daughter, ends her life in the Yagagni and Lord Shiva beheads Daksha in anger and Lord Narayana arrives in the scene to restore calm in the Yagna shala and this Lord Narayana was Guruvayurappa Himself according to Bhattathiripad. And when small kid Dhruva wanted just to sit on the lap of his father Uttanapada, but Guru Narada advises him to do the penance to get the lap of actual father of all, the God Vishnu, and Guruvayurappa appears before Dhruva and gives him the eternal blessings and one can get such a blessing from Him,if only one can visit Guruvayur...Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam.

The same God, Who gave Darshanam to Prithu Chakravarthi and Who took the Avataram of Rishabha deva ,the Jain Thirthankar, and Who gave His Darshan to a Mahapapi like Ajamila in the form of His Guards and saved him from the Yama dhoothas, just for the sake of one Namakeerthanam,is in front of you at Guruvayur ,where Namasankeerthanams of Narayana,Narayana,Narayana, reverberates the whole atmosphere ...Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam.

Due to the Shapa of Parvathi when Chitraketu became Vrutrasura, the Lord gave him Moksham and Vaikuntam when he started praising the Lord, though he did not ask for anything from the God and if you too can do the praise of the Lord in Guruvayur.!Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam.

What should be the qualification to become a Bhaktha of the God.......is the matter of constant conflict in every one's mind.......if it's age, Dhruva would not have seen the God at 5 years, if it's good Caste, Guha would not have got Ram,if it's Punyam alone, Ajamila would not have attained Moksham,if it's Humanity alone,Hanuman would not have become the God himself,if it's Devatwam, Vibhishana or Prahlada would not have got the Darshan of the God.Because Prahlada even though born to an Asura like Hiranya Kashipu, is always on the Bhajan of Hari and he even tells his father ....Sravanam,Keerthanam,Vandanam,...........Navadha Bhakthi to please the Lord Vishnu.Prahlada tells his father that Hari is Sarvatra Vidyathe.....but poor Hirnya Kashipu can not see the God anywhere and he asks if Hari is present in the Pillar also and to prove the young Prahlada right, the Guruvayurappa appears from that pillar and kills Hiranya Kashipu....in a strange avataram of Narasimham........And such a Lord is in front of us in the most Beautiful Swaroopam of Guruvayurappa...Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam.

God is so Kripalu that He appears immediately on the call of His Names. Not only of the Humans but also of all beings. Gajendra, the King Elephant, had called "Aadimoolame" and He started in His Garuda Vahanam to save His bhaktha,Gajendra. And one call of "Guruvayurappa" is more than sufficient for the Lord to come to your help.Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam.

Although the Milky Ocean was churned for getting Amrutham for the Devas, it produced - the most important thing for the human beings in this present day world--Lakshmy Devi with whose kadaksham the wealth is sustained in this Universe. And Mohini Avataram of Vishnu Bhagawan to distribute the Amrutham for the Devas and the Asuras is the other beautiful end-product of the Palazhi Mandanam.Mohini is the most beautiful Avataram of Mahavishnu, but our Guruvayurappa is..............
"Yat trilokya mahiyasopi mahitham,Sammohanam Mohanal,
Kantham kanthi nidhanathopi Madhuram,Madhurya dhuryadhapi,
Saundaryoutharothopi Sundaratharam,Twathroopam Aashcharyathopi,
Aashcharyam bhuwane na kasya koothukam,Pushnathi Vishno Vibho"

Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam

Mahabali had the blessings of his forefathers especially Prahlada, that was why he was able to get the foot of Mahavishnu on his head. Vamana Moorthy Bhagawan measured the two lokas with his two padams and the third one was on Bali's head. We all strive to get the Padarenu of Bhagawan on our heads, but never we get the chance. But we sure can make the Sashtanga Namaskaram at the temple premises of Guruvayur thereby getting the Padarenus of all the Bhagawath Bhakthas making the Pradakshinam of the Lord. Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam.

Sree Vishnu was very much pleased with Ambarisha Chakravarthy as he was an ardent devotee of Him. Bhagawan, even gave His Sudarshana Chakram to him which saved Ambarisha from the wrath of Durvassa Maharishi during his Ekadasi Vratham. This, Hari did to prove the world that He was a "Bhaktha Paradheenaha", and for we real Bhakthas, He has come down to Guruvayur to give His Blessings.Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam"

Each and every "Chetan" and "Achetan" thing in this world--Live and Inert objects of this world--can be treated as the Avataram of the God as He resides in every one of them. That is why the Hindus worship almost all the creations. But among the Avatarams, Sree Ram and Sree Krishna are the only POORNA AVATARAMS as they represent what is Bhagawatham,of the Bhagawan and of the Bhakthas. These two Gods could be seen only by the people of Their Yugas, but alas here in this Kali Yugam we have this Guruvayurappan,Whom all of us can see !! "Hantha! Bhagyam Jananam"

We all think that Lord Sree Krishna has taken yet another Avataram, that of Sree Guruvayurappan to bless the human beings in this Kali Yuga, but He was there even before the Krishna Avataram,in fact He was the same Adi Keshava who was worshiped by Krishna's parents and Krishna Himself in Madhura and later in Dwaraka. When the whole of Yadava Kulam as well as Dwaraka was drowned in the Sea,Guru Brihaspathi and Vayu Bhagawan carried and on the advise of Lord Shiva, installed the Idol on the banks of Narayana Saras in this Punya Kshetram of Guruvayur. That is why Melpathur Narayana Bhattathiripad asked Guruvayurappan in each and every Dasakam of his Narayaneeyam ,"was it not YOU"-- TAT TWAM ASI (tattwamasi). Melpathur saw the Lord and wrote ..."Agre Pashyami........." and wondered how fortunate the Human Beings are, to see HIM with their own naked eyes....................."HANTHA! BHAGYAM JANANAM"

BHAGAWATHAM-Phalashruti

Om Sat Gurubyo Namaha
"Bhave Bhave Yadha Bhakthi: Padayo: Tawa Jayathe,
Tadha Kurushwa Devesha Nathaa Twam no yatha: Prabho"
"Nama Sankeerthanam Yasya Sarva Papa Pranashanam,
Pranamo Dukha shamanam Twam Namami Harim Param"

These are the last two verses of Bhagawatha Puranam, which explains the Phalashruti of reading, hearing or writing the Bhagawatham. Whose namasankeerthanam itself gets rid of all the sins one commits and what to tell about His complete Leela Sravanam or Bhajanam .Yet if one wanted the Phalam for Bhagawatham, it is clearly written in the Bhagawatham itself....................."Yasya: sravana matrena Mukthi: karathale sthitha". By reading, writing or preaching just half a sloka of Bhagawatham...........Harischitham samasrayeth" -Sree Krishna will be firmly fixed in one's mind for ever and He will refuse to leave for Vaikuntam from there.
After just conducting one Sapthaham of Bhagawatham one will get to the Lotus Feet of one's Guruji and on the completion of the second such Sapthaham, one is sure to get to the Feet of one's favourite diety with the Guru Kripa."Slokardham Sloka padam va Padeth Bhagawatham cha ya,Nityam Punyam Avapnothi Rajasuya Aswamedhayo:" Half slokam reading or writing is equivalent to one Rajasuya or Aswamedha Yagna !!
"Asare samsare vishaya visha sangakuladhiya:
Shanardham kshemartham pibatha suka gadhatula sudham,
Kimartham vyartham bho vrajatha kupadhe kutsitha kathe,
Parikshit Sakshi yatshravana gatha muktha yukthi kathane".
Why spend time in the Kathas of Mundane things which are merely Vyathas instead of the Krishna Kathas which surely will liberate us from this meaning less Samsara Chakram? And even if we are imperfect in reading or writing or interpreting the Bhagawatha Puranam ,it gives us courage - to read or to write Bhagawatham even with all the mistakes(as is done in these postings by me)-because it is written in this Maha Puranm itself.....Yadyapi Prathi Slokam Abadha vadhyapi.......Krishna will correct those mistakes on due course and make us perfect in our future endeavors and we have to--" Sada Sevya Sada Sevya Sreemath Bhagawathi Katha...."
As is said by Mahatmas there is no end of Bhagawatham, only a Viramam for the Katha telling or writing because ........Hari Ananda aur Hari Katha Anantha..... Bhagawatha Katha is endless..........
Let us write this again and again and again and again as long as we are alive.
Shubham.

BHAGAWATHAM--12--Markandeya Puranam

Maharshi Markandeya in the Mayalokam

Balam Mukundam Manasa Smarami
Maharaja Parikshit listened to the Bhagawat Katha by Sukadeva with rapt attention and heard the Vaikuntaarohanam of Bhagawan Sree Krishna. And was waiting for the Thakshaka (the Sanke) to come and bite him as it was the seventh day. Sure Thakshaka did come, but before it could bite Parikshit, he had attained the Moksham as all the shrothas of Bhagawatham are likely to get liberated from this world.
Once Muni Mrikantu,as a boon for his rigorous penance, got a son and named him Markandeya. But he was worried to know that Markandeya had only 12 years of life as per his grahas. But Markandeya did Shiva Pooja and at the end of twelve years when he was followed by the Yama Raja he went to the Shiva Lingam and surrendered to Him. Siva saved the boy from the Yamaraja and gave the boon that Markandeya will always be of 12 years only. This gave him the Amaratwa. And Lord Siva got the name of MRITYUNJAYA.

Markandeya then became an ardent Bhaktha of Sree Krishna . Lord Krishna was pleased with Muni Markandeya's Tapas and appeared before him as Nara Narayana. And tried to please the Muni with lots of boons. But Muni was not to be lured at all and when Krishna asked him what he wanted then Markandeya wished that he would like to see the Maya Shakthi of the Lord. Then there came the heavy rains and thunders and the whole world was under the Pralaya Jalam and then Markandeya was alone swimming on this Pralaya Jalam for many many years. Then one day he saw the small infant Krishna on the banyan leaf sucking His toe and the Muni wanted to touch the Bhagawan.....Balam Mukundam Manasa Smarami. But when he reached near the boy, Muni went into Bhagawan's stomach and saw the whole of Universe functioning there, and before he could see the whole scene, he was out of Krishna's body. And at once the whole scenery of Balakrishna floating on the leaf disappeared and Muni found himself where he was before the illusion of Pralaya. And he knew that Krishna had given him the wish of the sight of His Maya Shakthi.

Bhagawatham-11- The Ekadasam

Om Namo Narayanaya

Once all the Yadu Rajakumaras playfully made Samban the son of Jambhavathi as a pregnant lady and took him to the Munivaryas of Vishwamitra,Kanva,Durvassa,Brugu, Angira,Kashyapa,Vasishta and Narada and asked them what child the Samban will deliver, boy or girl. These Munishreshtas by their Divya Dhrushti came to know the foul and cursed the Yadubalas that ......Janayishyathi vo Manda Musalam Kulanashanam" that she will deliver a Musalam which will be Kulanasanam of the Yadu Vamsa. To their surprise they found one big Iron Nail in the made-up stomach of Samban and though they grinded the same the small remaining piece of it was thrown into the sea which was swallowed by a fish and one fisherman got it after a days fishing. This pice of nail happened to be the part of a bow which hit Krishna later and became the Karana bootha of Krishna's Vaikuntaarohanam.

The Nava Yogeshwaras, Kavi, Hari, Anthariksha, Prabudha, Pippalayana,
Avirhotra,
Drumila,Chamasa and Karabajana appeared together at the court of King Nimi of Videharajya and on the king's request made many advises to him. Kavi Yogi said whatever we do, we have to give the karma phalam to the God Krishna as we normally pray..."Kayena vacha.......Narayanayethi Samarpayethath".Hari Yogi said that the one who saw the God in each and every thing is the Bhagawathothama-he is the greatest of Bhagwathas. The yogishwaras went on telling that the best way to please the God is to keep his Names chanting all the times and the Namasankeerthanam was the only hope to survive in this Kali yuga. It is the easiest way of all to attain the God as this nama japam has no restrictions of any kind . It can be done at any time and by any method one wished.

Once Bhakthas asked the Kanchi Sankaracharya(Periyaval) Chandrasekhara Saraswathi Swamigal, why he was called the Jagatguru,or was he the Guru of all this Jagat for which Swamigal answered that he was not the guru of this Jagat, but this Jagat is his Guru. In the Bhagawatham too,, the Avadhootha Geetha says the same- the 24 material things in this world as his gurus.....thus...
"Prithwi Vayurakasam apo agni chandrama ravi:,
Kapotho ajagara: sindhu: pathango madukrut gaja:,
Madhuha harino meena: pingala kurarorbaka:,
Kumari sharakrut sarpa urnanabhi: supesakrut"
Avadhootha expalined how these Jagat bhoothas taught him one or more lessons and how he was indebted to them for these knowledges.

In the Mahabharatha Yuddha, Arjuna wanted to run away from the battle field to become a Sanyasi instead of killing all these people including his relatives, but Krishna asked him to fight the battle telling him that it was his duty as a Kshatriya and made the Geethopadesam to him at the battle field. Here Krishna's best friend and his minister Uddhava wanted to stay with Krishna in the ruling of Dwaraka, but Krishna gave him the Upadesam - known as Uddhava geetha and asked him to go to the Badarinath and do the Meditations there, there by giving his Punyams to the people worshipping at the Badari Shrine. This upadesam of Krishna contained all the Karmayoga , Bhakthi Yoga and the Sanyasa Yoga and also the Bhagawath Upasana Karmas and all.

Bhagawatham-10.12-Santhanagopalam

Krishna Taking Arjuna to the Vaikuntam

To fulfill the wishes of Mother Devaki, Krishna went to the Pathala lokam to get the children killed by Kamsa back from there. King Mahabali did the puja of Krishna. In the first birth the children of Marichi Maharshi, with the Curse of Brahma next birth they were the children of Hiranyakasipu and then in their third birth they were the children of Vasudeva and Devaki and were killed by Kamsa on the first day of birth. Mahabali happily returned the children to Krishna. Devakidevi enjoyed the sight of her children and subsequently Krishna blessed them and gave Moksham and sent to Vaikuntam.Krishna wanted to bless the king of Mithila, Bahulashwan and His brahmin bhaktha Shruthadeva at the same time and took the same swaroopa twice and went to their houses at the same time and blessed them both and gave Mokshams also.

In Dwaraka there lived a brahmin whose children were dying at the time of their births and Krishna dismissed his pleas as " nobody can change the Karma Phalams of ones own Karmas during the Janmantharas". This must have been done purposely by Krishna - perhaps to remove the ego of Arjuna on a later date. Brahmin was unhappy with Krishna as eight of his children died on birth. When Arjuna was visiting Dwaraka, he found that brahmin crying on the death of his ninth child and Arjuna felt pity for him and assured him that he will safeguard the birth of his next child. Then, when the brahmin's wife was pregnant for the tenth time, Arjuna made a safe cordon with his Astras and thought no body can come near the lady. But alas, this time also the child died and not even the body of the child was available-Arjuna had promised the brahmin that if he could not save the child he will commit suicide . Arjuna went to Yamalokam and the Devalokam but could not find the dead child. So he prepared his own pyre to end his life. Krishna was a silent spectator so far, on seeing the smoke of the pyre,He appeared on the scene and assured Arjuna that he can find all the Brahmin's children. And then Krishna took Arjuna in His chariot and left towards the western side. When the Ranges of "Lokalokam" were crossed there was total darkness all aroound and Arjuna was afraid of it. Krishna's sudarshan chakra then gave light and illuminated the path. Then Arjuna could not open his eyes due to the Shine of the Vaikunta lokam and Krishna asked Arjuna to look at the Sight of Vaikuntam. There Arjuna could see the Sreeman Narayana on His, Adishesha Vahanam with all the Tejas and Glories. He also saw the three Murthies of Brahma,Vishnu and Siva there. Both Krishna and Arjuna made Sashtanga Namaskarams to the Gods and got their blessings. Sreeman Narayana said He wanted to see both Arjuna and Krishna together and hence took away the brahmin's children and they are here for them to take back now. Krishna returned the children to the brahmin and got the name of "Santhanagopalan". Anyone reading this story is sure to get the benefit of Santhanams with the blessings of Sree Krishna.

Bhagawatham-10.11-Kuchelopakhyanam

Aham Bhaktha Paradeena:

Once in the City of Sudamapuri ( todays Porbander) there lived a poor Brahmin called Sudama who wore torn clothes and hence was nick named as Kuchelan. He had ten poor children and a beautiful wife called Kalyani. Sudama did not even go for the Yachakavruthi and remained at his Kutir and ate only what he was given at his doorsteps by the villagers who passed by his house. Incidentally he was a classmate of Krishna when He was in the Sandipani Gurukulam. Kuchelan took pride in always reminding his wife that he was the classmate of the God Krishna. Even his children seemed to be satisfied by the stories he tell about Krishna and they all lived very happily though there was nothing to eat in the house. Then one day (on Krishna's inspiration we should think) his wife started telling that Kuchelan should visit his friend who is the King of Dwaraka, initially he resisted it, but on repeated telling Kuchelan decided to visit Dwarakadeesh one day with the borrowed Avil (Rice Poha) to offer.

Started walking the long way and got tired and slept under a tree on the way. The Lord Krishna felt pity for him and straight away put him near Dwaraka while he was sleeping under the tree. When Kuchela got up he could not believe his eyes , he's near a big and beautiful city of Dwaraka. He asked where Lord Krishna's palace was to all the passersby. No one responded as they knew that all the 16008 palaces in the city belonged to Krishna and His wives. And when one gentleman showed him the Main Palace of Rukmini , he saw many kings lined up to see Krishna with lots and lots of expensive presents with them. Sudama thought his turn to meet Krishna will never come in the near future and just went to gate man and told him that he wanted to see the king Krishna. The gate man immediately went and returned and to the surprise of Sudama , asked him to go inside. The truth is that on hearing Sudama's name, Krishna could not make him wait any longer at His gate.He came running to receive Sudama before Sudama could go into the palace. Krishna gave a big hug to Sudama and lead him to the main hall of the palace.

He gave Argyam and Padyam for him and did the Pada pooja of Sudama. Then asked His Ranies to bring water for Abhishekam of Sudama . He was perplexed by seeing Krishna's adithi satkarams which surpassed anyone's guess in the Palace, including that of Rukmini and other Devies. Then Krishna gave a good feast to Sudama while having a long talk with him, recollecting the gurukulam of Sandipani with Sudama.Krishna reminded him of the Guru's ashirvadam to them and said that Guru's anugraha is the only reason why He and Sudama are living happily till this day. Then Krishna asked about his family and enquired what he had brought to him as his present. Sudama was shying to give the Poha he brought, then Krishna snatched the Avil Packet from Sudama and started eating the same, saying that it was His Preethi bojanam and that it's the Bhava with which one offers to Him is important than the material itself.............

"Patram Pushpam Phalam Thoyam,Yo Me Bhakthya Prayachathi,

Thadakam Bhakthyupahrutham Ashnami Prayathatmana:II "

Then Sudama was taken to the Main Bed -room of the Palace and was asked to take rest there. Sudama thought why did he come to meet Krishna at all . Some how on the insistence of Krishna Sudama spent some days with Krishna , admiring His awesome treatment to him and one day asked Krishna that he would like to take leave of Him. Krishna bid good bye to Sudama . On the way back home,Kuchelan thought why did Krishna not give anything to him in return for his visit, and what he should tell Kalyani about it, because Kalyani had told him that Krishna would give some thing to him. He was in a big dilemma. Then in the mind he thought how poor and Daridra that he was to think about such things and how Sreeniketana was Krishna, yet He could have given some presents to his children. On reaching home he found why Krishna did not give anything in hand. If He had to give in hand there would have been some limit, but now the whole fortune given to him was endless. When God gives, He gives without any bounds and boundaries!!!!

Bhagawatham-10.10-Banasura Vadham

Jai Sree Krishna

Banasura, the 1000 handed bahktha of Lord Siva and the son of Mahabali had a daughter named Usha and she loved Krishna's grand son Anirudha even though she had not seen him at all. Usha used to see his swaroopa by the expert painting of Chitralekha who can draw pictures of any one by her artistic hand. She also by her swayogabalam brought Anirudhan from Dwaraka to Usha's courtyard. Both Usha and Anirudha lived together for some time until one day Banasura came to know about this and he ties Anirudha by the Nagastram and kept him as a prisoner. Krishna came to know about this by Naradamaharshi's news and started to attack Banasura and his rajyam Sonithapur. Since Banasuran is the bhaktha of Siva , all the armies of Sivaganas also started battling against Krishna along with Banasura and his armies. A long battle followed. Banasura fought against Yuyudhanan , Siva's son Subramanyan fought against Krishna's son Pradyumnan and Krishna himself fought against Lord Siva.Siva got fainted by Krishna's Sammohnastram and Subramanya ran away by Pradymnan's attack.Banasura also returned defeated by Krishna and Siva Jwara also got defeated by Krishnajwara and Sivajwara started praising Krishna and promised that those who read this story will not be affected by any jwara in the future. When Banasura came back for the war with Krishan , He started breaking each of his thousand hands when Siva reqquested Krishna not to kill Bana and Krishna left him alone. Later Krishna offered shapamoksham to the Nrugaraja whonwas in the Nruga form due to a Brahmana shapam.Krishna also defeated the Paudraka Vasudeva who was acting as if he was Krishan himself. Then Krishna after leaving Dwaraka in the care of Kruthavarma and Anirudhan, along with Yadavas went to the punya thirtham of Syamanthapanchakam. Taking bath in that punya Ganga river Krishna made thwe place pavanam and after doing many Dana Dharmas He joined with the Pandavas. After killing the Jarasanthan Krishna took part in the Rajasooya yagna by Yudhishtira. Then Krishna tried to avoid the Baratha Yudha by going as Dhoothan, failed in that attempt and He sided with the Pandavas and guided them to victory in the battle of Baratham.

Bhagawatham-10.09-Syamanthakopakhyanam

Jai Sreenathji

Once Krishna wanted to have the Syamanthaka Mani ,Jewel, from king Satrajit, who got it from the Bhagawan Surya, may be Krishna was not interested in the Mani, but his daughter Satyabhama. But Satrajit refused to give the Mani to Krishna and once when his brother Prasenan, wore this jewel and went for Hunting. One Lion ate the hunter and the jewel went into it's stomach. Jambhavan the monkeyshreshta killed the Lion and gave the Mani to his daughter Jambhavathi for playing. Since he lost the mani , Satrajit thought Krishna had stolen the mani and the public called Krishna as Mani Choran. Krishna wanted to find where the Mani is and he traced the lion's foot-prints and then went to Jambhavan . Jambhavan refused to give the Mani and did not know who Krishna actually is and there followed a battle between him and Krishna. At the end of the battle, Jambhavan came to know that only Vishnu Bhagawan can win over him as he is the Bhaktha of Lord Rama and immediately fell on the feet of Krishna and asked for the pardon. And in appreciation gave his daughter Jambhavathi as wife to Krishna. And also gave the Syamanthaka Mani as a dowry to Him. Krishna gave the Mani to Satrajit and then Satrajit fell on Krishna's feet for his blemishes in blaming Krishna for the Mani's loss. He too gave his daughter Satyabhama in marriage to Krishna along with the Mani . Krishna accepted Satyabhama but gave the jewel back to Satrajit and told him that if he so wishes he can send the gold he gets every day from the Mani to the State of Dwaraka which He will use for good purposes and it is told that Krishna used to get 1000 tolas of gold every day from this Mani from Satrajit as dowry !!
Satrajit had given word to Shatadanwa that Satyabhama will be given to him and when Shatadanwa came to know that Satyabhama was married to Krishna he took revenge by killing Satrajit and taking the Syamanthaka Mani from him , on the advise of Akruran and Krithavarma. Krishna comes to know that Satrajit is killed by Shatadanwa and goes after him. Meanwhile, Shatadanwa gives the Mani to Akruran and goes away. But Krishna chases and kills him by His Sudarshana Chakram. But the Mani was missing on his body. Finally Krishna gets the Mani from Akruran who is a Bhagawat Bhakthan.
Then Krishna married Kalindi and Mitravinda, even though her brothers Vindan and Anuvindan were against this marriage,Mitravinda herself was interested in the mariage with Krishan. Then Krishan married the daughter of Nagnajith, Sathya after winning the competition of tying the seven oxes at one time. Then Bhadra was given in marriage to Krishna by her brother Santhardanan. Then by arrowing down the fish whose reflection only was seen in the pond of water , which could not be done even by Duryadhana,Jarasanthan or Arjuna, Krishna married Lakshmana. With this marriage Krishna had all the eight Lakshmies as wives .
Then Krishna killed Murasura and Narakasura by His Sudarshana Chakram. After that He married the sixteen thousand girls who were jailed by Narakasura.Rukmini's san Pradyumnan having chaeted by Sambaran, killed Sambaran and married Ratidevi and came back to Dwaraka ,also married Rugmavathi, the daughter of Rugmi. Rugmavathi's son Anirudhan married Rochana the daughter of Rugmi's son.

Bhagawatham-10.08-Rukmini Swayamvar

Jai Sri Dwarakadeesh

SriKrishna Builds the dream city of Dwaraka, which is one of the seven Moksha Nagaries of this world. This city is the beautiful abode of Lord Krishna for the remaining part of His Avatara Leelas. Here the Lord lives as a King of all Kings, doing everything a king is supposed to do for his Prajas.

King Revathan of Kushasthali once took his beautiful daughter Revathi to the Sathyalokam and asked Brhamaji who is the best Varan for his daughter. Brahma said by the time he goes back to Earth the Balarama and Krishna will be there in Dwaraka and asked Revathan to give his daughter to Balarama. Thus Balarama got married to Revathi.

Rukmini, the Princess of Vidarbarajya heard about Krishna from the childhood and decided that He should be her husband. But her brother Rukmi had other ideas as he wanted Rukmini to be married to Sisupala the king of Chedi. Rukmini was worried too much and did not know what to do to get Krishna. Once she finds a brahmin from Dwaraka visiting her country and decided to send a letter to Krishna through him. In this letter she writes.......
" Shrutwaa gunaan Buvana sundara shrunwatham te,
Nirvisya karnavivarairharatho angathapam I
Roopam drusam drusimathamakhilartha labham,
Twayyachuthavisathi chithamapatrapam meII"
how she can be kidnapp
That, from the gunakathas of Krishna, she has longed to get Him as her husband and that He should come to her help as her marriage is being fixed to some other man. She had even referred to Krishna as the Narasimha as she wants Him to come very quickly to save her as Narasimha appeared to save Prahlada, but He should come in the beautiful roopam of Naraloka Manobhiramam . Then Rukmini suggested .....how she will be coming to the Bhawani t4mple on the day of her marriage and what time she will be coming out of that temple and how Krishna can come and take her away. Krishna comes with Balarama on the appointed day and kidnaps Rukmini in front of all those securities provided by Rukmi. There follows a war in which Krtishna and Balarama defeats all the enemies and safely reach Dwaraka with Rukmini. Then Krishna weds Rukmini according to the vedic rites.
According to Mahatmas story,Krishna tested Rukmini saying that He belongs to the Shepherd caste and hence not suitable Husband to her and also that He is poor and is afraid of His enemies and has in fact ran away from Jarasanthan to Dwaraka and she could find good husbands among kings. Rukmini in response, fell fainted on the floor and Krishna was more than satisfied to know that Rukmini is in fact Lakshmy only and hence most suitable bride to Him.

Bhagawatham-10.07-Madhura Leela-2

Yamadharmaraja is summoned for Guruputra

"Vande Nandavruja Streenam, Pada renum Abhishnasa: I
Yasam Hari Kathodgeetham, Punathi BhuvanatrayamII"

Krishna completes the Upanayana Samskaram and joins the Gurukulam of Sandipani Maharshi for the formal education, along with brother Balarama. He completes the study of the 64 Kalas and vidyas in just 64 days time and at the end of His Gurukula Vasam asks Sandipani Maharshi as what he would like to get from Him as the Gurudakshina. On the Guru's request He brings back live the Guruputran who was missing from the prabhat kshetra 12 years ago and gets the Aashirvadams from the Guruji. When the Guruputran was taking bath in the Prabhath thirtham he drowned. Rama and Krishna went to the Samudram and asked Varunadeva about the Guruputran and Varuna said that the Asura Named Pachajanan who was in the form of a Shangu shell had taken the guruputran. Then Krishna killed the Panchajanan and found that the Guruputra was not there in the Shangu. Krishna takes the Shangu for Himself which is known as Panchajanyam. Then Rama and Krishna go to the Kalapuri, and with the Shangu Nadam He summons the Yamaraja and asks for the Guruputran. Yamadharmaraja said that the Guruputran's life was over and so he's in the Yamalogam. Krishna orders that he should return the Guruputran to Him and on His orders the Guruputran is back with Krishna and He presends the putran to the Guruji. When one gets the Param Pita as a student , he can get any type of Dakshina he wants, in fact getting Krishna as student in itself is Dakshina.

Meanwhile in the Vrindavanam, all the Gopies suffered the Viraha Dukham of Krishna, they realised that they can never again see their Kanhaiyya. Krishna too was unhappy to be away from them for long. Krishna had told the Gopies that He will be back in Vrindavanam soon, but could not do so and hence thought of sending His closest friend Uddhava to the Gopies,in doing so, Uddhava will also come to know what is real Bhakthi is, from the Gopies. Uddhava reaches Vrindavan and informs Nandagopa and Yashoda about Krishna's well being. Both of them were very happy to know that news from Uddhava. Then seeing Uddhava's chariot, the gopies initially thought that Krishna has arrived. But even Krishna's friend is welcome guest to them as they can get Krishna's news from him. Uddhava is astonished to see the real Krishna Bhakthi of the Gopies, the way they sang the songs of Krishna and how they were living in His Viraha Dukham. He thought of carrying the Paada Renu of the Gopies on his head all the times. He said that he has never seen a better Bhagawat Bhakthi than these Gopi's any where in three worlds and what is the use of Gnanam without the real Bhakthi, and that he will always do Vandanam to these Gopies for their true Bhakthi.
Kamsa's friend Jarasanthan wanted to attack Madhurapuri to take revenge of Kamsa's killing by Krishna, but gets defeated many times. And Krishna decided to shift from Madhura He made a dream Town of Dwaraka with the help of Viswakarma. And even though Jarasanthan was defeated in all the 17 wars , Krishna acted as if He is running away from him, when He moved away from Madhura to Dwaraka, on the way He gives Moksham to Muchukundan while killing Kalayavanan.

Bhagawatham-10.06-Madhura Leela-1

KAMSA VADHAM

"Paritranaya Sadhunam,Vinasaya cha Dushkrutham,
Dharma Samsthapanarthaya,Sambhavami Yuge Yuge"

Krishna-Balarama's Madhuragamanam was preceded by the Divya Darshanam given to Akrura in the Yamuna River which he richly deserved as the Bhaktha living alongside the Asura like Kamsa always in the thoughts of the Lord. How blessed Akrura is , like him we too live amongst the Asuras of this Yuga-in minds and deeds- and if we do bhakthi to the Lord we too surely can get the Divya Darshan one day. All the people in Madhurapuri eagerly and affectionately welcomed Krishna and His Gopas . The washerman showed displeasure and got what he deserved from Krishna and all the Gopas wore the Washerman's royal clothes, the Taylor amde the alterations to the Gopa dressed as required and got the blessings of God. Then Trivakra named Lady who prepares sandalwood paste for the king offered the sandalwood paste to Krishna and with His blessing became very beautiful lady-those who offer Hari Chandanam to the God everyday ...surely to get His blessings and will become the most beautiful persons in this world. Then Krishna and Balarama went to Dhanuryaga sala -they were actually invited to take part in this Dhanur yaga by Kamsa. But Krishna took the Bow in His hands and brokt it very easily. This breaking of Dhanus is a bad omen for the Yaga kartha-Kamsa and he started shivering by the news.He sends the Kuvalayapeedam - the elphant with 1000 elephant's strength. Krishna and Balarama kill the elephant and then proceed to the Darbar of Kamsa Here the people of Madhura could not believe their eyes on the sight of Krishna...."Pibanta eva chakshurbyam lihanta eva jihwaya I, jigranta eva nasabyam shlishyanta eva bahubi: II".....then the two wrestlers Chanuran and Mushtikan come to wrestle with Krishna and Balarama. Krishna easily disposses Chanura and Balarama did the same to Mushtikan. And then Krishna makes the jump to the thron of Kamsa and brings him down by pulling his hair. And with couple of hard blows Krishna takes the life out of Kamsa giving him the Moksham.
Krishna releases His parents, Vasudeva and Devaki, from the Jail and gets the blessings of them. After the Kamsa vadham , Krishna releases Kamsa's father Ugrasena frm the confinement and makes him the King of Madhurapuri.
