AHO BHAGYAM.....AHO BHAGYAM.....!!!!

"Aho Bagyam Aho Bagyam,Nanda Gopa Vrajaukasam,
Yan mitram Paramanandam, Poornam Brahma Sanatanam"

We have discussed in the previous post about the nine types of ways in the Bhakthi Marga. Among them the best way of Bhakthi is "Smaranam". In all other methods, we need the help of another person or the help of other sense organs, but in the Smarana Marga it is only our mind that is involved. In the other ways even if we do the Bhakthi with out our mind involvement, they are not taking us towards the Lord. It is true that we need to get to the proximity of the God in what ever way we do the Bhakthi. Even in a playful mode the Vruja gopas attained the nearness of the Lord Krishna, as Lord Brahma exclaimed in the above sloka. He wondered how fortunate the people of Vruja Bhoomi were, whose friend was none other than the Poorna Brahmam, Sri Krishna Himself!! They had the Mitra Bhava towards Krishna, and even though they never realised that Krishna was the Poorna Brahmam God, they attained the Saamipyam of the Lord.

We should think ourselves more fortunate than these people in the Vruja Bhoomi as we are able to be always in the thoughts of Lord Guruvayurappan, after visiting Him once and living far away from Guruvayur. Sitting at the comforts of our home, we are able to think of his Roopam, Naamam, Dhamam and His Leelas, all the time as we are immersed in His Smarana Bhakthi. We are not sure, if we were living in the proximity of Guruvayur, we would have been in His thoughts always. It is obvious that we would be always thinking of our daughter and her family who lives away from our homes, and not our Son and his family with whom we live, even though he is very near to us. That is true for we mortals but it is true even for the Lord Rama. As it is said in the Ramayanam, Lord Rama was always in the Smaranam of Bharata and not Lakshmana who was near Him and serving Him all the times, leaving his own wife and family. And the Shastras tell us that we attain the same Gati as we think of ,at our end of lives. And what more we need than thinking of Lord Guruvayurappa at the end, and towards that goal ,to think of Him all the times, though we are away from Him. The Gopikas better chose to live in the thoughts of Lord Sri Krishna, rather than follow Him to Madhura when Krishna left Vrindavan. Now Lord Guruvayurappa has given us the chance to do the Smarana Bhakthi and He is sure to take us near to Him when we do with all our Hearts and Minds all the times. So are we not the most fortunate in this world?

Jai Sri Krishna, Jai Sri Krishna.
