JAI SEETHA RAM
This post is dedicated to my rediscovered childhood friend Sri Anantha Krishnan alias Krishna Moorthy of Capital Residency. For some one who was swimming in the Agaatha Krishna Saagaram, for one who was lost himself in the Bhagavatha Kathamrutam, which is Krishna Jana Priyam as well as Sakala Kalmasha Naasanam,to remember his Moola Raman, the deity who is the most instrumental factor in the uplift of the Rama Bhakthas of this once sleeping village of a sleeping town to this present day prosperity and affluence, a guru was sent by this Kripalu, Seetha Rama,in the form of Anantha Krishnan. The Deity which is a personification of the 16 virtues, Deva Rishi Narada explains to Kavi Shreshta Valmiki as an answer to his simple inquiry.."Konwasmin sampradham loke Gunavan........". Can this writer or for that matter any one on earth, fully describe the eternal charm of Ramachandra Moorthy and Seetha Devi, as they give Darshan to the hundreds of Bhakthas in this Pushpagiri Agraharam of Punkunnam,in Thrissur,Kerala? It is this Ramachandra Prabhu's immense kripa which has inspired me to write this post on the onset of Dakshinayana Punyakalam, the advent of Karkidaka Maasam when we think of and chant the full Ramayanam, for which the month is called the Ramayana Month. When we worship the Bhagavathy with Bhagavathy Sevas through out this Karkidaka Month, the Suprabhata Darshanam of our beloved Seetha Rama, with the chant of " Kausalya Supraja Rama......" is very much on our minds. This is true for all of us even if we are miles away from Him. That is the attractive charm this Rama carries to influence all His Prajas, which fact will be self-evident to the Bhakthas on the first visit to this great Temple.

Of these 16 virtues as Narada explains to Valmiki, we have to take only two here, as the explanations to all the virtues will be another Ramayanam, Valmiki said even he could not describe in its fullness all those virtues in his "Ramayanam" which has more than 24,000 verses.
We say SUMUKHAN is our Rama. "Om Sumukhaya Namaha" is one of the Namarchanas in the Vishnu Sahasra Namam. In his Vishnu Sahasra Naama Bhashyam, Adi Shankara described what Sumukha is......Rama is always a good-looking personality. Rama was told to get dressed up for His Pattabhishekam by Dasaratha, the king. Meanwhile, Kaikeyi had other plans and she asked the two Varams from the King. Rama was called for and He was told by Kaikeyi about the two Varams Dasaratha gave her. To make Bharatha the king of Ayodhya and the other one, Rama should go to the forest for 14 years. Adi Shankara said one had to look for Rama's face at that time, to know what is Sumukham. Rama had the most pleasant and most beautiful face when he was told to go to the forest. Everyone seems to agree on this. But this was possible for only those who lived in Rama's age. What about we people who live in this Kaliyuga? Here I say that one has to come to this great Rama Temple in Pushpagiri, Punkunnam, Trichur to see what Good Look is !!! Such is the beauty of this Rama, which truly is not describable by mere words. And you see His face with a Chandana Kappu (Kalabha Charthu).....oh..God.. your eyes can not see any other things in this material world. And this is what the 11th virtue of Rama as told by Narada to Valmiki, this uniqueness is the magnet with which Pushpagiri Seetha Rama attracts His Bhakthas. See it for yourself.... we always murmur..........."Janaki Manoharan, Akhila Loka Nayakan......" He is not only Seethaji's Mano Haran, He is the Charmer of all our hearts. A beauty-incarnation !!
The other most evident virtue of Pushpagiri Seetharam is His being the most Kripalu, blessing all His Bhaktas of this world. He is the Benign who showers everything, the Bhakta asks for, sometimes even more....Narasimha Bhagavan can not be said to have a beautiful look, though Vaishnavas may disagree with me,but His Kripa is abundant. He takes the Avataram to prove His bhaktha Prahlada's words true. "Sathyam Vidhatum Nija Britya Bhashitam..."Isn't it KRIPA?
If any evidence is required one has to look at this Agraharam, which was an old village at its best, now turning into a modern part of modern City, with its skyscrapers etc. and the prosperity of its people. This Deity is "Akarana Karuna Sindhu" for He's even blessed the ones who have not worshipped Him, Apaara Karuna Sindhu!! He does not seek any Hetu to do good to this village people! And if one does any one of the Nava Vidha Bhakti, the Blessings are much fold.. We may think that we have worshipped enough to get His blessings, even if it is true, without His Kripa none can get any boon and His boon to come to you, He does not ask for anything from us, that is the Akarana Karunalayam, this Pushpagiri Rama is. Otherwise how you explain the recall of someone back to His proximity after a gap of more than four decades away from Him. Only an Ahetuki Karuna can.... and who else can, other than Seetharam.... Jai Seetharam... He is not Sadhana Sadhya.......He is Kripa Sadhya......And we are fortunate to have His Kripa, to be nearer to Him always....Hantha Bhagyam Jananam !!!
Every one of us is always struggling to get the two things in this world, a continuous peace of mind and the real Aanandam in the Heart. "Chanchalam hi Manaha Krishna...." Arjuna said to Krishna and Srikrishna agreed it is so. Our minds waver a lot, they're never steady, they fluctuate,in one moment they travel from California to Kerala.........but when we sit in a Bhagavata Sapthaham or Ramayana Navaham or in the Bhajanotsavams, our minds seem to focus only one thing, that is Krishna or Rama. There we get the peace of mind. Our minds are totally devoted....or we are called the Devotees. But even if the above events are not in town, just come to this temple in Pushpagiri,it's Sanctum Sanctorum, the "Hall of Peace", you will get the eternal peace of mind. It's serene tranquility,in the presence of Seetha Devi and Sri Ram, will keep your mind steady for ever.Of these 16 virtues as Narada explains to Valmiki, we have to take only two here, as the explanations to all the virtues will be another Ramayanam, Valmiki said even he could not describe in its fullness all those virtues in his "Ramayanam" which has more than 24,000 verses.

In one of my previous posts also I had said that there is no equal word in English language for the Sanskrit word, "Anandam". Happiness is not expressing full meaning. It may be a word for "Sukham". This happiness by any wordly means, is temporary, it vanishes when end comes to the source of it. And our Anandam is not temporary, it is eternal, it is in the mind, and it can not be obtained by any external objects, it has to be fetched internally, within oneself. One has to peep into ones inner heart. This Anandam can only be given to us by the personification of Anandam, the Ananda Swaroopan, Lord Seetha Ram alone. This Param Aanada Moorty, with His Daya Moorthy Thayar, Seetha Devi when worshipped together gives the Devotees, this unexplainable Param Anandam. This Anandam is our Swaroopam also, though in an infinitesimal measure. All we have to realise is to get this Gnanam. This can be acheived by the Gnana Margam also by the Bhakthi Margam, which way is easy for us. One has to be an ardent Bhaktha of Seetharama Swamy, and he will get all the Gnanam, Virakthi,Vairagyam and of course the Bhakthi easily. He will know that the Anandam is our Swaroopam and he will attain it too. This Bhakthi is the.."Tapaha Swadhyaya Niratam.... " the Ramayana begins with. The "Naama Sankeertanam" is the best way to attain the Rama Bhakthi. And Akhanda Naama Bhajans are conducted very often to get the real Bliss of the Lord. Or simply to get the Darshan of Seetha Rama Swamy at this temple is in itself the Bliss, the eternal Anandam, one can not give a miss.......... Jai Seetharam.
We are fortunate to do a small Naama Archana in the Name of Seetharama Swamy in this Ramayana Month......
